Join Damen Naval as Automation Engineer on the ASWF flagship programme. You will design and implement automation for shipboard systems to enable safe, efficient control and monitoring. You’ll work with a multidisciplinary, international team to ensure cybersecurity, safety, and defence compliance from concept to commissioning. Your work helps advance European naval defence through rigorous engineering practices and standards. This role combines hands-on engineering with collaboration across multiple stakeholders for a measurable impact.

Verantwoordelijkheden

Develop automation architecture and functional descriptions for shipboard systems (ASWF)
Design and document PLC/SCADA control logic and interfaces meeting defence and cybersecurity standards
Prepare technical specs for automation hardware/software ensuring integration with electrical/mission systems
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, system suppliers, and international partners on solutions and interfaces
Support test plans and simulation environments across project stages (FAT, HAT, SAT)
Review vendor documentation, assess compliance, and integrate deliverables into the automation architecture
Contribute to ongoing development of automation standards and engineering practices within ASWF and Damen Naval

Belangrijkste vereisten

2+ years in design/implementation of complex automation systems (PLC/SCADA)
Experience in systems engineering with multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
Familiarity with cybersecurity and safety standards for military/mission-critical systems
Experience with MBSE environments, preferably using the V-model
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Excellent references; security screening required
Permanent EU citizenship and passport; EU work authorization required; non-EU nationals not eligible
