As Lead Creature Animator, you guide a team shaping the lifelike motion of machines across the game. You define the motion language and maintain a consistent visual identity for various machine types, from scouts to combat units. You deliver high-quality keyframe animation that communicates gameplay intent with weight and responsiveness. You collaborate with design, AI, and tech animation to integrate animations into behavior systems and gameplay loops. This role offers the chance to push motion language, mentor a team, and impact core gameplay on cutting-edge projects.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead and mentor a team of animators focused on machine animation
- Define animation style and motion language with Animation Director across machine types
- Create high-quality keyframe animations for gameplay emphasizing weight, timing, physicality, and responsiveness
- Collaborate with Game Design, AI, and Tech Animation to integrate animations into behavior trees and gameplay loops
- Drive prototyping and iteration of new machine behaviors, combat patterns, and traversal mechanics
- Ensure animations clearly communicate gameplay intent and feedback to the player
- Participate in animation planning and reviews to meet production goals
- Contribute to development and improvement of animation tools and workflows within the engine
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Proven experience in game development as an Animator and Lead (5+ Animation and 2+ as Lead) with focus on gameplay animation for non-humanoid entities
- Deep understanding of animation principles applied to mechanical characters, quadrupeds, and multi-limbed designs
- Strong keyframe animation skills with portfolio showing machine/creature movement
- Confident in leading teams and giving constructive feedback
- Experience with game engines and runtime animation systems including blend trees, state machines, and behavior integration
- Thrives in multidisciplinary environment and communicates effectively with design, engineering, and tech animation
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about machine movement and animation-driven gameplay
