In this Senior Art Director role, you shape visually striking concepts across CGI, motion design, and interactive media for AKQA’s Amsterdam studio. You lead art direction on CGI and motion projects, collaborating with CGI artists and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver cinematic, technically precise work that supports the creative vision. You’ll push digital storytelling through advanced production workflows and AI-assisted tools, with a focus on craft, conceptual strength, and strategic grounding. Verantwoordelijkheden

Lead art direction across CGI and motion projects to realize the creative vision
Collaborate with CGI artists across animation, modelling, rigging, lighting and compositing to ensure cohesion
Apply craft knowledge in CGI workflows (modelling, lighting, animatics, grading, retouching)
Explore and contribute to AI-assisted workflows to enhance exploration and production efficiency
Provide hands-on support in compositing, grading, and finishing to elevate outputs
Contribute strong conceptual thinking ensuring ideas are strategically grounded and visually compelling
Work within advanced production workflows (EXR and ACES) to maintain color accuracy
Present ideas clearly to internal teams and clients
Demonstrate proficiency in editing and motion software (Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci) and AI generation tools

Belangrijkste vereisten

Proven experience as a Senior Art Director or similar role with strong conceptual and executional capability
Portfolio showing high-level craft across CGI, motion graphics and digital storytelling
Solid understanding of CGI production pipelines from modelling to post-production
Hands-on craft in compositing, grading, retouching, finishing
Curiosity and practical experience with AI production tools
Strong eye for visual storytelling and design excellence
Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate rationale effectively
