In this role you will strengthen AkzoNobel’s governance, risk management and internal controls across global operations. As part of an international audit team, you will deliver insights that drive continuous improvement beyond compliance. You will lead and participate in global audits, guide teams, and champion best practices while staying current with regulatory changes. The position offers international exposure, collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and opportunities to shape the internal audit program and outcomes.

Verantwoordelijkheden
- Lead or participate in global internal audit assignments per Internal Audit Methodology
- Act as Lead Auditor within 6 months, guiding teams and assignment managers
- Prepare audits (scope, background, interviews, plans) and document approach
- Assess business processes, identify risks, test controls, evaluate weaknesses
- Draft and present observations and recommendations; finalize documentation and follow up on actions
- Support departmental improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing
- Stay updated on auditing best practices and regulatory changes
Belangrijkste vereisten
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 4 years in public accounting and/or internal audit, ideally in a large international manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of risk-based auditing and GAAS
- Excellent command of English
- Audit certification (CPA, CIA) or active pursuit
- Familiarity with SAP processes (Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance/Controlling)
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and report writing
- Experience with data analytics in audit is highly preferred
- Ability to work with diverse international teams and deliver on time and within budget
- Willingness to travel up to 30-40%
