    Role

    As a data platform engineer you will develop, innovate and operate our data platform. It is the foundation for all data intelligence activities within the organization, including subscriber churn prediction, recommendations, tv viewership forecasting and price optimisation of our advertisement inventory.
    The data platform enables us to collect, store, transform and analyse high volumes of data in both streaming and batch workloads. It is running in Azure and has been built using cloud-native technologies, such as Kubernetes, Argo and Kong, to maximise scalability, flexibility and reliability.
    You will join a cross-functional team located in our Hilversum office (we have a remote working policy too). Together with the team you will work on our key challenges, which include implementing self-service data pipeline automation, ensuring end-to-end data lineage and access governance, and adopting MLOps.
    As a member of the Software Engineering discipline, you will be part of a team of passionate engineers who champion high quality, embrace DevOps practices and cloud-native technologies, and foster a culture of continuous learning.

    Candidate

    Generally speaking, the client is looking for a person that has a passion for software engineering, is curious about technology, is eager to learn, and is diligent and kind.
    Specifically we expect you to have the following skills and traits.

    • You have strong software engineering skills and are proficient in Go and Python.
    • You have deep experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
    • You have a good understanding of GitOps, DataOps and MLOps.
    • You keep up-to-date with relevant new tools and technologies within the field of data engineering as they emerge.

    • You have a completed university or higher vocational education, preferably in the field of Computer Science.
    • You have over 3 years of experience as a data platform engineer or in a similar role
